🌍 International Partnership

Canadian Fisheries Experts

Lake Front Fisheries works alongside Canadian fisheries specialists who bring decades of international aquaculture experience. Their visits provide hands-on technical guidance, review our production systems, and help us benchmark against global best practices.

🔬

On-site Technical Reviews

International experts conduct farm walkthroughs, reviewing feed management, water quality, stocking densities, and biosecurity protocols.

📊

Production System Benchmarking

Our systems are measured against international standards — identifying opportunities to improve survival rates, growth performance, and yield.

🤝

Knowledge Transfer

The collaboration creates a lasting knowledge bridge — strengthening the capacity of our local team with skills that remain on-farm long after each visit.

💼 Partner

Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund

AECF is a valued partner of Lake Front Fisheries. Together we are creating opportunity for women and youth in aquaculture — building skills, building businesses, and building futures in our community.

Young women and men trained through this partnership go on to run their own fish farming enterprises, purchase our fingerlings, and contribute to a growing regional value chain anchored in Siaya County.

Training across the region

Our hands-on training sessions bring fish farming knowledge directly to communities — from pond construction to oxygen-packed fingerling delivery.

Innovation through research

We collaborate with leading Kenyan universities to advance aquaculture science, develop circular farming models, and provide a real-world research environment for students and researchers.

🎓

Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University

In partnership with the Agriculture Department, we operate HDPE cage systems on Lake Victoria — purpose-engineered high-density polyethylene cages designed for intensive tilapia production with superior water quality management, biosecurity, and yield. We also cultivate Azolla as a sustainable fish feed supplement.

  • HDPE cage research and development on Lake Victoria
  • Azolla cultivation as a nutrient-rich fish feed supplement
  • Student research placements and internships
  • Joint publication and extension activities
🔬

Research & Innovation Pipeline

Our farm serves as a live research site, allowing academic partners to study real-world tilapia production systems, test feed formulations, monitor water quality, and evaluate environmental interventions at scale.

  • Live aquaculture research environment open to partners
  • Apiculture (beekeeping) integration trials underway
  • RAS technology trials and optimisation studies
  • Open to new research proposals from qualifying institutions
