Technical Mentorship
Lake Front Fisheries works alongside Canadian fisheries specialists who bring decades of international aquaculture experience. Their visits provide hands-on technical guidance, review our production systems, and help us benchmark against global best practices.
International experts conduct farm walkthroughs, reviewing feed management, water quality, stocking densities, and biosecurity protocols.
Our systems are measured against international standards — identifying opportunities to improve survival rates, growth performance, and yield.
The collaboration creates a lasting knowledge bridge — strengthening the capacity of our local team with skills that remain on-farm long after each visit.
AECF
AECF is a valued partner of Lake Front Fisheries. Together we are creating opportunity for women and youth in aquaculture — building skills, building businesses, and building futures in our community.
Young women and men trained through this partnership go on to run their own fish farming enterprises, purchase our fingerlings, and contribute to a growing regional value chain anchored in Siaya County.
In the Field
Our hands-on training sessions bring fish farming knowledge directly to communities — from pond construction to oxygen-packed fingerling delivery.

Academic Partnerships
We collaborate with leading Kenyan universities to advance aquaculture science, develop circular farming models, and provide a real-world research environment for students and researchers.
In partnership with the Agriculture Department, we operate HDPE cage systems on Lake Victoria — purpose-engineered high-density polyethylene cages designed for intensive tilapia production with superior water quality management, biosecurity, and yield. We also cultivate Azolla as a sustainable fish feed supplement.
Our farm serves as a live research site, allowing academic partners to study real-world tilapia production systems, test feed formulations, monitor water quality, and evaluate environmental interventions at scale.
